No do not cancel the ppi, you will only get a small (very small) rebate of ppi and your payment may go up. It is better to hold on and win mis sell, the loan is reset without ppi, you get all monthly payments of ppi back you have paid to date and your monthly payment goes down by the ppi amount.

I've been away form the site for a few months due to other commitments so I'm slowly wading through everything that has happened. I was surprised to see this about the OFT as I get daily updates from them and haven't had anything through regarding FP. I would happily contribute towards any legal action. I can forward details of a solicitor who specialises in consumer law to admin or Mr Meggo if needed. He recently won a case for someone who has battled an unenforceable loan for 20 years. He got over £400,000 written off, the suspended possession order removed and damages from the previous solicitor who hadn't noticed the errors. I've been to a few of his lectures and spoken to him about FP in the past and he is certainly aware of some of the issues. I'm sure he would have a look to see if it's worth pursuing.
