As a fellow complainee, it has been noted recently that Barclays Firstplus, have been dragging it’s feet in responding to complaints from its customers. They have been stretching the complaints process to the outer limits of its time schedules. It is clear that FIRSTPLUS have no interest in fairness to its customers, and despite the mass of complaints it is failing to see that maybe these cases actually have merit, they are still using the age old excuse that when a broker is involved in the transaction, it is the responsibility of the broker for the sale of the loan and policy, yet FIRSTPLUS fail to respond to the fact, and go on to avoid the requested clarifications as to why it states on the policy documentation that FIRSTPLUS are acting as the intermediary and advertise that they are either a member of the FSA or were members of the General Insurance Standards Council. Should FIRSTPLUS continue to use such an excuse then the policy documentation has been misrepresented, furthermore, regardless of a broker invlovement it is clear under common law “The Law Of Agency” the consumer has the right to pursue any and all parties involved. Barclays FIRSTPLUS now need to sit up and take note that this matter will not simply go away, consumers will continue to complain, and as more and more consumers express disatisfiaction on open forums it will allow for more exposure to its unfair practices. Barclays FIRSTPLUS are fully aware as to the legal obligation of disclosure and misrepresentation, despite this, they continue to reject complaints with what it appears to be a view as to simply have the consumer give up. I therefore call on all customers of Barclays FIRSTPLUS to take a stance and say “NO, I will not accept this” even if you have had a complaint denied in the past, by either FIRSTPLUS or the FINANCIAL OMBUDSMEN; that you take your action Further. The members on this site can assist you with your options, and as our own legal action progresses we will keep you informed every step of the way. It is time for the people to demand, that being treated unfair, either by Usury interest rates or Insurance Policies that were either mis-sold or that you have no chance in hell on claiming on, to stand up and fight. |
